Donna T. Hamby, CP.APMP President Innova Strategies, LLC
Innova Strategies, LLC was formed in 2016 as an evolutionary reorganization of BD Solved, a sole proprietorship started by Donna T. Hamby in 2011. BD Solved successfully provided technical services, business consulting, graphics support, SharePoint and Website development, and proposal development services to small and mid-size companies pursuing government and commercial contracts. Donna has over 20 years of expertise in the aerospace and defense markets, including NASA, MDA, US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, and US Army Corps of Engineers, with experience working for both large, medium, small, and micro businesses.
Before founding her own business, Donna led Business Development in a successful local small business. During her tenure the company grew from 120 to 240 personnel. She also increased the number of bids and win rate significantly; from 16 bids with a 19% win rate, to over 60 bids with a 62% win rate. This translated into more than $500 Million in awarded contracts, with only 10% of those being multiple award contracts.
Donna is certified at the Practitioner Level (CP) by the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP). When certified she was one of only 300 people worldwide with this certification. Today approximately 700 people are certified CP by APMP.
Donna is experienced in contract management, employee relations, Human Resources, benefits management, recruiting, accounting, interfacing with corporate officers and employees, and all aspects of marketing, business development, and business strategy.
Donna has demonstrated success in all roles of the bid process — Prime, Joint Venture, and Subcontractor. She understands the Multiple Award IDIQ process and has submitted numerous winning Task Orders. She brings unique insight into the Government proposal process including understanding Government customers, their needs, and how to translate those needs into a winning proposal response.
Donna conducts strategy workshops to guide businesses in developing winning strategies by examining the Government proposal evaluation team, their needs, and hot buttons and matching those with customer strengths, features, and innovations. Donna is unique in her ability to understand the Request for Proposal, implement client strategies, develop innovations, interview management and technical experts to get their ideas on paper, design a pleasing format and color template for the response, edit content, develop new written content, conceptualize graphics, and finalize the production of the submission. This understanding of the entire proposal process results in a more consistent final proposal product is compliant and compelling.
